Gartner has released their latest Business Intelligence maturity model. The model is based on five dimensions: data management, analysis, decision support, collaboration and business insight. Each dimension has five maturity levels, with Level 1 being the most immature and Level 5 being the most mature. Gartner defines four key areas of maturity for BI: data management, analysis, decision support, and collaboration.

The Gartner BI maturity model depicts a six-stage process that business users go through when implementing BI. (See Figure 1.)
